Take one of the many trail walks or a bike ride through fern gullies and mountain ash that will take your breath away . YARRA GLEN

Situated just North-East of Melbourne is Yarra Glen, where some of the best Yarra Valley wineries surround the Yarra Glen township. While visiting any of the many wineries in the region, remember to take in surrounding natural beauty, which makes this region unique.
There is a great deal of local produce used in restaurants in Yarra Glen and the farmers market is where you can buy and taste the freshest local produce. Looking for a little more Yarra Glen race course plays host to Horse and Harness meets throughout the year which are always a great day out for all involved. Or visit the region’s only pioneer farm; enjoy your surroundings as cattle, sheep and horses roam the property at will, adding to the atmosphere.

 

HEALESVILLE

Located just under an hour from Melbourne and right in the centre of the Yarra Valley food and wine district, Healesville is a popular tourist destination because of its world-renowned animal sanctuary. The Sanctuary is famous around the world for its Australian native species display, with over 200 different varieties, ranging from kangaroos, emus, platypus and wombats right through the birds of prey. Spread over 30 magnificent hectares of native species of fauna, this enables the animals to live in their natural environment. The town also boasts a number of restaurants, cafes, antique shops, galleries and street markets featuring the works of local artists from works of pottery right through to pieces of jewellery
