Enjoy the Rock Pools
Gantheaume Point is a promontory about 6 kilometres (10 Minutes) from Broome, Western Australia and a favourite tourist attraction.
Named after Honoré Joseph Antoine Ganteaume, in 1801 by Nicolas Baudin on a French expedition to map the coast of Australia.
Cooling off in a natural rock pool is favourite things to do in Broome.
On the northern side of Gantheaume Point and you’ll find Anastasia’s Pool. This natural spa pool was created by an early lighthouse keepers, which filled for his wife, who suffered arthritis.
Nearby to Anastasia’s Pool is a deep circular rock pool. A tide over 9 meters is required for it to completely fill. This pool is open to the tide at the bottom and fills from the bottom. There are strong tide movements so caution is needed and not recommended. Explore and you certainly will find further rock pools.
The Dinosaur Trackway is at Gantheaume Point where you can walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs
