Australian International Airshow

March 3 @ 8:00 am - March 5 @ 5:00 pm

10 OCTOBER 2022

Fasten your seatbelts – AIRSHOW to touch down in Avalon, March 2023

The Australian International Airshow is returning to Avalon Airport, bigger and better than ever before. Open to the public from 2pm, Friday 3 March to Sunday 5 March, ticket-holders can look forward to a whole new program with jaw-dropping aerial displays, a refreshed food and beverage offering, and live entertainment.

Since 1992, AIRSHOW has welcomed patrons to Avalon for a three day, action-packed public spectacle with breathtaking flying displays and an amazing array of static aircraft to view up close. Today, the Australian International Airshow is the biggest aviation, aerospace and defence exposition in the southern hemisphere.

Tickets will be available for public purchase from Thursday 13 October. To celebrate the much anticipated return, the event is bringing even greater value for attendees:

  • For the first time in Airshow history, children 15 years and under are FREE
  • All car parking will be FREE
  • NEW second entrance will be available to ease car and attendance flow
  • Kicking off the weekend, Friday Night Alight will feature incredible night aerobatics and a laser show.

CEO of AMDA Foundation Limited (organisers of the event), Justin Giddings, said the changes to Airshow’s ticketing policy and entertainment offering meant there was something for everyone to enjoy over the Airshow weekend.

“The Australian International Airshow is roaring into Avalon bigger and better than before. We’re changing Airshow into an interactive experience for kids and families, a night out for the younger crowd, and a real treat for aviation enthusiasts – and this is just the beginning,” Mr. Giddings said.

“Airshow favourites, including the incredible Wall of Fire display, are back along with some incredible new aerial attractions. We’re creating a whole new entertainment offering too: stay tuned for details on how we’ll be kicking off the weekend,” he said.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has asked for some changes to the layout of the site. This means that grandstand ticket holders will be the closest to the action.

“As with any aviation-related event, safety is our number one priority. This event will include improved shelter and dedicated viewing areas,” said Giddings.

Tickets will be available for presale purchase to Airshow members on Monday 10 October, and available for wider public purchase on Thursday 13 October. To join in on the action, tickets are only available at:

Children 15 years and under are free as general admission. A child admission ticket is required to gain entry, and can be acquired at the link above.
