The heritage listed Quaratine Station at North Head commenced in the 1830s until 1984, when visiting ships arriving in Sydney with suspected contagious disease, stopped and offloaded passengers and crew into quarantine to protect the residents of the colony of New South Wales. The station is now home to a hotel, conference centre, and restaurant complex known as Q Station and remains part of the Sydney Harbour National Park.

Cabbage tree bay is a beautiful snorkelling site, as you identified. I’ve seen heaps of life here, including, but not limited to: Eastern Blue Groper, Massive Schooling Sardines, Giant Cuttlefish, Schooling Mado, Sydney’s Gloomy Octopus, Estuary Catfish and heaps more. Lovely post 🙂
