Kalbarri National Park, Coral Coast – Western Australia
Kalbarri National Park is one of Western Australia’s most spectacular natural attractions, covering more than 186,000 hectares of dramatic coastal cliffs, ancient gorges and wildflower-filled landscapes. Located on the stunning Coral Coast, the seaside town of Kalbarri is around a 6.5-hour scenic drive north of Perth, making it a popular stop on road trips through regional WA.
What makes Kalbarri National Park truly unique is its striking contrast of environments. To the north-east of the town, the Murchison River has carved deep inland gorges through rock formations that are over 400 million years old. To the south, towering ocean cliffs plunge into the crashing Indian Ocean, creating breathtaking coastal lookouts and photo opportunities.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities including bushwalking, gorge hiking, canoeing, sightseeing and wildlife spotting. The park is also one of Western Australia’s best wildflower destinations, with over 1,100 varieties on display during peak season from July to October.
One of the park’s most famous highlights is Nature’s Window, a natural rock arch framing the Murchison River. Located just 500 metres from The Loop carpark, it is one of WA’s most photographed and iconic natural landmarks.
Whether you’re chasing adventure, coastal scenery, or seasonal wildflowers, Kalbarri National Park is a must-visit destination on the Coral Coast.
