Travelling around Melbourne by train for the tourist is quick, efficient, cost effective and easy way to experience all the sites and attractions. Services across metropolitan Melbourne beginning at around 5am (7am Sunday) until around midnight, and on Friday and Saturday nights they run to after midnight. Use the city loop to get around the CBD, or the metropolitan network to experience more of Melbourne.

Flinders street station is the central station for the metropolitan train network. It is also considered to be a central meeting place for Melburnians, you will hear them say “I’ll meet you under the clocks”.
The iconic Melbourne trams and light rail are unique to our city, as no other capital city in Australia have this form of transport network (although some states have implimented a line after now after realising the benefit). Trams provide the visitor with reliable transport as well as a great way to view sights of the city and the suburbs like St Kila, Fitzroy, South Yarra, Toorak, Richmond, Northcote, Brunsick to name a few.. City Circle Tram
Getting aroud Melbourne on the City Circle Tram is free, so hop on and off as often as you like.
The City Circle Tram service provides a free and convenient way to get around central Melbourne. Use the City Circle Tram for travel to attractions, shops and city events.
You can spend umlimited time on a City Circle Tram. Information leaflets have been provided, including an ‘easy to understand’ map of the city are available on board each tram.
SkyBus operates a world-class, express bus service between Melbourne Airport, Tullamarine, and the Melbourne city centre.
SkyBus. Every 10 minutes to the airport.
SkyBus operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week with departures every 10 minutes during the day.
Tickets are \$19.95 oneway – \$32 return – Online ticketing makes it even easier to travel with SkyBus.
Other services is Peninsula Express provides regular and reliable airport transfers between Melbourne Tullamarine Airport and St Kilda, Frankston and surrounding bayside suburbs.
SkyBus provides fast and frequent services to Avalon Airport. Avalon City Express offers airport transfers to Melbourne City and Werribee.

Melbourne has over 300 bus routes servicing cross-suburban travel and enhancing the tram & train networks,and enabling the visitor to Melbourne to access major shopping centres, and leisure and sporting venues.
