Take a dip in the Waterfront’s saltwater Recreation Lagoon. A seawall separates the lagoon from the adjacent Darwin Harbour, offering a safe place for enjoying the facilities on offer.

To maintain high-water quality and help stop marine stingers, fresh sea water, which is filtered through fine mesh screens, flows continuously in the Darwin recreation lagoon. This area is home to fish, algae, and Cassiopeia jellyfish, which all help maintain a healthy marine environment, providing visitors with the chance to witness the diverse wildlife of the lagoon.

The Darwin recreation lagoon is patrolled by lifeguards from 9am-6pm every day for safety and enjoyment within this area.
