The heritage listed Quaratine Station at North Head commenced in the 1830s until 1984, when visiting ships arriving in Sydney with suspected contagious disease, stopped and offloaded passengers and crew into quarantine to protect the residents of the colony of Ne South Wales. The station is now home to a hotel, conference centre, and restaurant complex known as Q Station and remains part of the Sydney Harbour National Park.
