Craig’s Hut, Perched a top of Mt Stirling in Victoria, offers stunning views of the ranges and is one of the region’s most photographed landmarks.

First built as a set for the 1982 film, The Man From Snowy River film, the hut has now become an iconic symbol of Australia’s settler history.

The High Country is a 2.5-hour drive (283 km) from Melbourne.

Get there by 4WD or following the 1.2 kilometre walking track from the Day Visitor Area.
